Alexa & bOS account loosing connection

Hi.

A few days ago, the link between bOS and Alexa disappeared.

Interestingly, my server was also gone from my CC profile.

I quickly added it back and linked the accounts again.

However, I have had to do this every day since then because the connection disappears again after a few hours.

How can I find out where the error is coming from, or what can I try?

Thank you.

Hey

I use alexa every day. I had to reactivate the skill too but it stays connected, app still shows the notification that I need to re-activate it to continue using but it is working once I did it already.
One thing I noticed was that by default it has endpoints as the group it controls in alexa app. But in bOS I had Appliances so maybe this is the problem it does not see your devices? Re-check that it matches the endpoints group name.

Edit: I was having trouble with the skill when it used endpoints. I have a workaround for controlling my LG TV’s power using a Boolean controlled via Alexa, but it wasn’t recognizing the Boolean and prompted me to enable the TV skill. However, Estonia is still unsupported by both Alexa and LG, so the skill likely wouldn’t have worked here anyway. After switching to the Appliances category, it did recognize the Boolean (named “TV”) and it started working again.
Edit 2: Also it shows 2 instances of bOS when activating skill. So I had this activate TV's skill error again. But lights worked.

Hello,

Thanks for your reply.

Unfortunately, I only notice it when Alexa can no longer reach the devices. So it's not just the notification in my case.

I checked the names and “endpoints” are listed everywhere.

It's very interesting how different Alexa's reactions are with bOS. Until now, it had worked flawlessly from 2021/2022 until just a few days ago.

I always get a push notification when someone gives an Alexa command that doesn't work—then I re-link it and it works again for a few hours. It's strange that this keeps happening.

I might delete everything and recreate it in a few days.

Yep you are correct, it keeps disconnecting the skill. Happened again for me too.

Okay—has it just started? If so, I would guess that it has something to do with the simultaneous changeover of web services and the homepage at CC. Everyone is experiencing this problem, and hopefully it will be found and fixed soon.

I have similar issue, but in my case, I have to re-link with Alexa multiple times a day. I suspect it could be tied to my Dynamic DNS, as I have inputed my Dynamic DNS to the server configuration (instead of a static IP) , but when I go to back to my server config, it shows the current IP. Also, I saw a "Dynamic IP" option, which was disabled and I have enabled, but unsuccessful results.

It's similar with Google Home.

After the recent changes, it disconnects the account after about an hour.

Hello everyone,

the Alexa and Google Home skills are currently having some issues with disconnects, they both lose connection after certain period.

We’re already working on resolving this issue and hopefully we’ll be able to get everything back and running by the end of the week.

Best regards.
