New 4.8 Android app keeps crashing

Hey,

Anyone else having this problem? My bOS on android started crashing today. Clearing the cache or rebooting the phone does not help. This has happened before with older versions too but not for some time now. And I have too many projects to restore now. Please think some account backup thingy so we could backup and restore All projects we had in there.

It kind of started the same way as the last time i lost all my projects. I was just making some updates, logged in and logged out after checking them and then when I wanted to change accounts it would just crash - after that I tried rebooting the phone and clearing cache. Its really pain in the arse to restore them manually as I don't have them all under my account but I still need the access.

bOS app has been crashing on my different phones for years. Now I have had about a year id does not crash. It does not open any more. Usually deleting the app worked. Not anymore. I have restarted the phone, uninstalled, reinstalled and still the same thing. If I open the app it appears for 1 second and then shuts down.

Samsung S22, but that is not important because it happens to other phones also. I am not standard user. I have more than 50 profiles in my account and and the problem appears totally randomly usually while connecting to some profile even if have used it several times a day and not made any updates or changed anything. I have reported the issue over Android dozens of times in at least 5 years but still no change. ComfortClick what could be the issue and how to fix it from my side and from yours since looks like I am not the only one whos app is crassing from time to time. Now only solution I see from my side is to change the phone...

I've submitted my Android device logcat logs to the support team to help them investigate the app crashes. For me, clearing the app's data is the only solution that works (clearing the cache or rebooting doesn't). However, this action resets all of the app's memory, requiring account restoration afterward. This issue has occurred once-twice a year, typically when I have one account open and then attempt to log into another. Even after the app crashes, it continues to receive push notifications.

Hello,

a new BETA version of the bOS client app has been released, so you can try and download the beta app and test it out.

To download the latest beta, uninstall the app, in the google play store, find bOS client, scroll all the way down and apply as beta tester. Then you'll be able to download the latest beta version.

Downloaded beta version, but the app is still crashing as soon as I open it.

is it possible to send us your logcat as well, so we can check where the issue might be with the crash.

You can get this log file by using ADB (most common way).

I have 120 controllers saved in app. I imported my account now to get rid of them I have to do it manually and had no reason to do it. I was not able to get log file from ADB. But for some reason bosclient started working. Not crashing anymore, but it will probably happen some day again.

Hello Tanel,

well great to hear the app isn't crashing now. The problem might be the high device count. We'll do additional tests and perhaps change how the controllers are handled in the main menu.

Also, what's the device and android version you're running?
